PROBUS Clubs provide a regular meeting place for men with a PROfessional or BUSiness background who have retired, are partly retired, or are approaching retirement - 

particularly those who appreciate and value increased social contact, the opportunity for meeting others in similar circumstances and participating in activities of general interest.

There are a large number of PROBUS Clubs in the UK and around the World. Each is an autonomous non-profit making organisation and they do not report to any central headquarters or parent body.

The Probus Club of The Sussex Weald was formed in 1989.

We hold a monthly meeting in the Spotlight Restaurant Room at The Hawth Theatre on the first Tuesday of each month. Club business is usually followed by an organised talk and lunch. Members' wives and partners are invited to at least three of the monthly luncheon meetings during each year. Our ladies also meet for morning coffee on the last Tuesday of each month.

Other activities are arranged on a regular basis for members and their ladies (and often friends) such as visits, walks, golf, bowls, coach trips, eating-out, theatre outings and group holidays.
